Allow us to introduce ourselves. We are a trio, myself, Dona, my sister Josie, and my brother-in-law Paul. Together, we decided to embark on this exciting journey to create a platform where we can share our love for fashion, provide valuable tips and insights, and foster a community that uplifts and supports one another.
Why did we start this blog?
Well, we’ve been there – feeling like we don’t quite fit into the mould dictated by traditional fashion standards. From being petite, to struggling with weight, to being over 6ft, we understand the challenges and triumphs that come with different body types. We believe it’s high time to break free from societal norms and embrace our uniqueness.
What is the meaning behind our name, MareWater?
We’d love to share the story behind our unique name.
Mare Water was born from a desire to incorporate our initials into a name that reflects our shared vision and background. Our journey began with the idea of using the initials “MW” in our name, representing our family connection. With my surname starting with M and my sister and brother-in-law’s surnames beginning with W, we envisioned a logo that would mirror each other, symbolising the bond and harmony within our team.
However, finding a domain name that solely incorporated “MW” proved to be a challenge. Undeterred, we delved deeper into our roots and heritage, drawing inspiration from our Italian and English backgrounds. That’s when we discovered the beauty and significance of the Italian word “Mare,” meaning “sea.”
We realised that both water and the sea have the ability to reflect light, forming a mirror-like surface that captivates and inspires. This notion perfectly aligned with our original intention of creating a mirrored image with our initials. Thus, the name Mare Water was born, representing the unity of our initials, the reflection in water, and the deep connection to our Italian heritage.
